Smugglers Cove
True to its name, Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf offers 18 holes of mini-golf unlike any other for intrepid travelers, young and old. Wind through caves, under waterfalls, and into a pirate ship as you try to sink the colorful golf balls. And did we mention you’ll be playing alongside live alligators?
Each course is home to between 20 and 30 American alligators and includes an educational exhibit where you can learn about their habitat, behaviors, and anatomy, including their armored body, muscular tail, and wide, toothy grin that helps them hunt prey. At Smugglers Cove, you’ll get a chance to feed alligators using cane fishing poles for an experience of a lifetime.
One of the largest species of its kind, these alligators can weigh 1,000 pounds, measure 15 feet long, and live up to 50 years in the wild. This species was once at risk of extinction and put on the endangered species list in the 1960s. Today, they’re no longer extinct, with about a million of them living in the rivers, ponds, and swamps of the southeastern United States, primarily in Florida and Louisiana.
