CLUBS: Golfing on the Island

Firstly, where are your options for golfing near our Anna Maria Island rentals?

The island itself has only accommodated one golf course, but it is one of the best in the region. Key Royale Golf Club is a bombastic 9 hole – Par 32 walking course. A golf membership is required to play, giving you access to an elegant dining hall and cocktail lounge.

Key Royale is an astonishing course and easily the best for quality golf in Anna Maria Island.
At only seven miles long, it is tough to squeeze any extensive space for a few golf courses. The professionals at Key Royale made it happen.

CARTS: Transportation and Golf Carts

Many visitors and locals don’t utilize a car for transportation. For convenience and affordability, they go with a golf cart.

Where can you get a golf cart on AMI?

We couldn’t recommend Beach Bums enough for all your beach gear, kayak, and golf cart rental needs. They are a great local provider with an emphasis on fun.

Other wonderful rental providers include Gulf Coast Carts, focused entirely on golf cart rentals, and Fun and More Rentals in Holmes Beach.

It is so easy to use a golf cart for transportation to and from our Anna Maria pet-friendly rentals. You can easily navigate the small streets and avoid traffic complications, as you head from the rental to the course, to the restaurant, and back to the beach.

KIDS: Golfing with the Kids

If you want to bring the kids along for a game, the most accessible option is the Fish Hole Miniature Golf Center. It is located on the island and features luscious décor and a koi pond. But we understand if you want the “real thing.” What are some family-friendly golf courses?

Some local courses advertise that they allow children (though it usually five and older). These include the Buffalo Creek Golf Course in the outskirts of Bradenton and the Bent Tree Country Club in Sarasota. You can always get off-the-beaten-path with a trip to Esplanade Golf and Country Club at Lakewood Ranch. Its 600 acres of pristine golf.

Always call ahead to confirm age limitations.

Plan Your Vacation

No matter where you choose to play a round of golf in the area, heading home for a relaxing evening in one of our Anna Maria Island vacation rentals is the perfect way to end the day.

OH MY! Golfing Near the Island

Fortunately, there are many options for golf near Anna Maria. You don’t need to head far to see some of the best courses in the expansive greens of the local cities.

The two most assured areas for golf are Bradenton and Sarasota. Both feature some top-tier play.

Bradenton, in particular, is a fantastic place to play the days away. The city is only a brief drive east of AMI about 25 minutes. Manatee County Golf Course is one of the most revered courses on the gulf coast. It is the closest to the island and is known for its competitive layouts and TifEagle greens for superior play.

Timber Creek is an ideal companion to Manatee County Golf Course. This 9-hole par three course is known for its welcoming short game. You won’t be tested to the nines with this relaxing place to play and enjoy the Anna Maria Island weather.

Sarasota also has some fantastic courses. You can find the acclaimed Bobby Jones course, tucked away in Sarasota’s Glen Oaks area. Rolling Green, in North Sarasota, is another top-notch entry to the gulf coast’s lineage of great courses.

We also suggest the Pinebrook Ironwood Golf Course, the Bradenton Country Club, and the par 32 River Isles Golf Club.
