When staying in one of our Anna Maria Island vacation rentals, you will want to spend some time at Coquina Beach. Below, we will detail all you need to know about Coquina Beach for your visit.
In addition to crystal clear, turquoise water and soft, sandy beaches, Coquina Beach has so much to offer.
Coquina Beach, FL is located on the South end of Anna Maria Island; it is one of the most beautiful Anna Maria Island beaches. It is located on the Gulf of Mexico, so it has clear blue water that is sure to take your breath away. This old-style Florida beach is lined with tall pine trees that give you shade from the hot Florida sun. Coquina Beach is an incredibly picturesque place to spend your entire day swimming, playing, biking, or simply relaxing. For your convenience, the beach is open from sunrise to midnight every day.
Directions to Coquina Beach
Since the island itself is only seven miles long, you can easily bike or walk to the beach, depending on where you stay. You can rent a bike and rent a golf cart if that is a better choice for you.
Regardless of your method, Coquina Beach is about nine miles south of Holmes Beach. Keep an eye for signs to your right on Gulf Drive, and you can’t miss it.
If a bike or golf cart doesn’t interest you, Anna Maria Island also has a trolley that runs the entire length of the island. The Anna Maria Island trolley operates from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. every day and has a stop right at the start of Coquina Beach. The trolley arrives at each stop every 20 minutes, so you will never have to wait too long for a ride. If you choose to drive to the beach, there is free parking available.
Amenities and Parking
Once you arrive at Coquina Beach, there are a wide variety of amenities for you. If you rented a bike, there are bike racks available to store and lock your bike. If you’d like to walk the length of the beach, there are benches to rest on along the way and water fountains to quench your thirst. Parking is easy with an on-site parking lot that makes vehicle access simple. It is open from sunrise to sunset and is free first-come, first-served. Grills, pavilions, and picnic tables are available for larger groups or families who choose to bring food to cook for themselves. There are many trash and recycling receptacles around the beach so that it remains clean from garbage and debris.
Showers, changing cabanas, and restrooms are available to accommodate all of your needs while on the beach. If necessary, a beach wheelchair is available to beachgoers on a first-come, first-served basis.
