It’s Fall, y’all! That glorious time of year when the temperatures start to slightly drop, Pumpkin Spicetakes over,
Farmer’s Markets are aplenty, and Halloween prep begins! While being on tropical Anna Maria Island may mean we may not get to see the leaves fall, but we do get some gorgeous Fall colors from our warm sunsets!
October is also a busy time for community events and activities. There are many fun things to do this month on Anna Maria Island so make the most of it because before you know it, the busy Holiday Season will be upon us!
Here’s what’s going on in October on Anna Maria Island for all-ages:
National Night Out – October 1, 2019
National Night Out is always a fun time for the family to get out and celebrate with the community. Holmes Beach Police Department promises this year will be the biggest and best yet. There are impressive giveaways, countless games and activities, and even a giant water slide! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for our A Paradise team! National Night Out is set for 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, and is a free public event sponsored by the HBPD and the city of Holmes Beach at City Field.
AME Fall Festival- October 12, 2019
The annual Anna Maria Elementary (AME) Fall Festival is an island Autumn staple, hosted by the AME PTO. From 10am – 2pm at The Center on AMI, it’s a great time to see lots of creative costumes, play games, win some candy, and so much more. This event is open to the public and they would love for all children to attend! This is going to be one for the books so come in costume and ready for some Halloween fun!
Bayfest- October 19, 2019
Enjoy a fabulous day on Pine Avenue in the City of Anna Maria from 10am-9pm! The AMI Chamber of Commerce is proud to present their 19th annual Bayfest: An all-day street festival filled with fun for the whole family! There is no admission charge and something for everyone. From continuous live music to a classic car show to a kid’s zone to countless refreshments and arts and craft vendors from your favorite local spots.
Trail of Treats – October 31, 2019
All treats, no tricks. The Trail of Treats happens every year on Halloween and will begin at the Anna Maria Chamber of Commerce. Kids can get a guide and visit tons of Island businesses in costume and get some great trick-or-treating loot. Be sure to arrive early if you wish to register for the costume contest! Typically, this event takes place on Halloween evening around 4 p.m. until 8 pm. Additional information about the Trail of Treats will become available closer to Halloween on the Anna Maria Chamber of Commerce’s website.
